About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and committed PYP Coordinator to lead and develop the Primary Years Programme in our IB School.
The PYP Coordinator will work closely with teachers, and school leaders to ensure that the programme is implemented effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
A. Programme Leadership:
•Lead the implementation and ongoing development of the IB Primary Years Programme.
•Ensure the Programme of Inquiry is well planned, reviewed regularly, and meaningful for students.
•Support the school in meeting IB standards and preparing for authorization and evaluation visits.
•Keep IB documentation accurate, realistic, and aligned with what actually happens in classrooms.

B. Teaching and Learning:
•Work closely with teachers on unit planning, inquiry, assessment, and reflection.
•Support high-quality teaching that is inquiry-based, concept-driven, and student-centred.
•Promote consistent assessment practices across grade levels.
•Support the integration of German, Arabic, and English within the PYP framework.
•Contribute to the development and implementation of key IB policies, including language, assessment, inclusion, and academic integrity.

C. Staff Support and Professional Development:
•Guide and mentor teachers in understanding and applying the PYP in practice.
•Support new staff as they transition into IB and inquiry-based teaching.
•Plan and facilitate professional development related to the PYP.
•Encourage collaboration, shared responsibility, and reflective practice among the team.

D. Collaboration and Leadership:
•Be an active member of the school’s academic leadership team.
•Work closely with KG and MYP teams to support continuity and progression.
•Contribute to whole-school planning and improvement initiatives.
•Support admissions and parent information sessions when needed.


Qualifications and Experience:
•Bachelor’s Degree
•3-5 years’ experience teaching in an IB PYP
•Formal IB PYP training (Category 1 minimum).
•Experience supporting curriculum development and working with teaching teams.
•Previous experience as a PYP Coordinator or in a leadership role.

Language Requirements:
•Strong command of English.
•German proficiency is highly preferred.
